The ISP company that originally hosted this site is long gone, but due to inertia I had not asked for any sort of server upgrade when the site changed hands. Now I have been involuntarily migrated to a new host.
Now that I have figured out the new database setup for MovableType (still using version 2.64) I can post again. Of course I really ought to upgrade MT as well, or try out some other blogging tools. I also now have access to Python, and it looks like cvs as well as svn.
Maybe some day in the future I can allow blog comments again.

Instead of providing further insights into the future of computing-as-utility, the book resorts to cheerleading and [brand] name dropping.

A Japanese toy company is selling an interactive AR based figure. [[Gizmodo story]] Given that the doll is virtual and appears only on the computer screen, I wonder what exactly you get for $125. Is it just a box full of fiduciary markers?
